SALES TAX POLICY
AFS is located in Michigan, so products shipped to an address in Michigan are subject to sales tax of 6%. We do not charge sales tax on shipments to any other state. Purchasers in other countries are responsible for the taxes imposed by their governments. They would be due upon release from customs in the destination country.
We use your information only to process the order. We do not share that information with any other person or company. We may contact you from time to time by email, and you will have the option to opt out of any further email contacts not relating to an order.
Domestic and Canadian orders are shipped by truck or FedEx ground unless you request a faster method. All products are normally in stock and ship the day of or the next business day following the order. A tracking number will be emailed to you after it has shipped. We ship to many countries. Call us for a quote. We use a variety of carriers for international shipments and prefer to use your account if possible.
Canceling an Order: We will try to cancel your order as quickly as possible upon notice from you. If it has been shipped but it is cancelled before receipt, there will be a 15% restocking fee. You will be responsible for any costs incurred plus the restocking fee. These costs include shipping and credit card fees (3%). If shipped, it will be your responsibility to refuse delivery. If you do not, you must call us for a return authorization before returning the item. Shipping back to us is at your cost and responsibility. If the product is damaged when returned, the cost will be charged to you. Follow the instructions on Packaging Returns below.
We do not accept returns of opened or used products. Each product has a manufacturer's warranty, and any problems or defects with the products will be handled by the manufacturer under that warranty
If you purchase an EM-10 pin bone remover and it does not work for your fish processing needs, you will have (14) days to return the product to us. You must contact us within (10) days of receiving the product to ensure we are aware of the return request. We will provide you with a return authorization and instructions. You are responsible for shipping costs, including insurance. With complete adherence of this policy, you will receive a full refund, less any fees for damage or machine use.
Receiving a product different from the one ordered: You are responsible for making the correct order on the order form, so if you are unsure of which product you should buy, please call. However, if you do receive an item different than the one you ordered, Auto Fish Scalers will replace the product at no cost to you with the correct one. To receive a replacement or refund, you must call us within 3 business days of receipt of the product and get a return authorization. We will then give you shipping instructions and send you a return shipping label. Returns must be in their original condition and carton with all materials that came with the item. The shipping carton should not be marked other than to apply a shipping label. If you return a damaged product without contacting us, it will not be accepted and will be returned to you. If you ordered the wrong item: Contact us within 3 business days. We will give you a return authorization and ship the correct product upon receipt of the return. Shipping cost and liability are your responsibility. We will issue you a refund less a 15% restocking fee if the product is unused and in original condition with all packaging and contents as new. Returns must be in their original condition and carton. If the item being returned is damaged in transit, the cost of the damage will be deducted from your refund. We are unable to exchange or accept returns for any reason on items more 15 days after they have been delivered. Follow the instructions on Packaging Returns below.
Items damaged when received: Any damaged items found at the time of delivery should be refused. If you accept an item that was obviously damaged in shipment, the loss will be your responsibility. Call us as soon as possible to report the damage.
If after receiving an item that did not have external damage, you find it to be damaged when unpacked, please call us within 3 business days of delivery. We will determine if the damage was shipping related, and arrange for a replacement. We will contact the shipping company for instructions on how to proceed if it is shipping related. If you use the product without contacting us at the time of unpacking, we will not be responsible for the damage that should have been observed then. If you do not report the damage within 3 business days, we will not accept the damage claim.
Products that are damaged after delivery cannot be returned. They will be serviced under the manufacturers warranty, if applicable.

Packaging Returns: You are responsible for the safe return of these items, so we recommend that you insure them for the value paid. If there is loss or damage during shipment, it will be your responsibility.
The Return Authorization number must be on the box shipping label. Include a copy of your order and the reason for the return.
Products cannot be accepted if their original boxes are marked, damaged, written upon, or stickers or labels of any type placed upon them. We recommend that you return them in a rigid cardboard enclosing box. Do not exceed the maximum gross weight (generally printed on the bottom flap) on the box. Two inches of packing material must be on ALL sides of the shipping article including the top and bottom. Products must be secured within the box. Any loose items must be wrapped separately to avoid damage to each other or the machine. For packing materials, use foam, bubble wrap, crumpled paper, enough to insure that the contents will not easily move. Heavy items must have very substantial packaging. All must be securely taped in strong corrugated boxes. Use one address on the box.
